Knowing the Purusha

The Purusha Sukta in the Vedas describes the qualities of the Purusha and cover the aspect of knowing the Purusha. The Purusha is the divine consciousness, the universal spirit governing this world. The Rishi who has experienced the Purusha declares

Now let us analyze these two mantras and understand them,

The Rishi says “I have known this great Purusha….

…who is of the colour of the sun and beyond darkness…

…The intelligent Purusha conceptualizing the various forms…

….has also given the names to these forms and is calling out to them”

“The creator, establisher (Brahma) in the beginning to whom he worshipped…

….That Purusha knowing whom Shakra (Indra) worshipped from all the four directions…

…Knowing that Purusha in this manner immortality will be possible here…

… No other path (way) exists for liberation”

The Rishi clearly affirms that the only way to immortality is to know and experience the Divine Purusha.

If everyone strives to know the divine Purusha within one’s own self this would be the first step of creation of a divine society (Divya Samaja) !
